A Tennessee Vols bye week does not stop our college football predictions for Southeastern Conference and top 25 games during Week 12 of the 2019 season.

Like the Volunteers this season, our college football predictions last Saturday needed a major surge just to get back to par. But just like Tennessee football did last Saturday, we were able to accomplish that surge late in the night.

In fact, the surge to hit par happened thanks to the Vols’ comeback. Their victory helped us in a huge way, as it helped Jeremy Pruitt’s second team get to .500 while they are heading into their second bye week.

Early on the day, we started 1-4 and then fell to 2-6. Things did not look good going forward, and we had plenty of reason to be concerned. But here’s a look at how our College football predictions straight-up and on the gambling front.

Record for Week 11 predictions straight-up: 6-3

Gambling Record:  9-9

Against the spread: 5-4

On the Over/Under: 4-5

So we hit .500 thanks to Rocky Top beating the spread and that game hitting the under. We also accurately called the game of the century that day between the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers. Here’s a look at how we’re doing overall now.

Overall record for predictions straight-up: 82-22

Gambling Record: 94-91-3

Against the spread: 51-41-2

On the Over/Under: 43-50-1

As you can see, we’re above .500. But we still have a long way to go before turning a profit in our gambling picks, which require hitting above 52 percent. This week, even without the Vols playing, there will be plenty of opportunities for us to make that comeback.

UT is one of two SEC teams that has a bye, the other being the Arkansas Razorbacks, who desperately need one after firing Chad Morris. But the other 12 teams all play each other, making for six conference games. Then we have three games featuring two non-conference top 25 teams, making for another week with nine predictions overall.

Usually, we go in order with the Vols being our last pick. But without them this week, we’ll just go in order. And as always, we’ll be using the odds on Action Network to make our gambling picks. So let’s get started. These are our College football predictions for SEC and top 25 games during Week 12 of the 2019 season.
