No. 11 Florida Gators at Missouri Tigers

Line: Florida -7; Over/Under: Missouri 51; TV: CBS

Saturday, Nov. 16 at Noon ET; Faurot Field; Columbia, Mo.

A few weeks ago, this had the potential to be part of a round-robin to decide the SEC East. But both of them blew that shot, and that’s especially true of the Missouri Tigers. So one team is now playing this game to preserve a New Year’s Six bowl, and the other is playing to reach a bowl.

After losing to the Georgia Bulldogs, the Florida Gators didn’t miss a beat. They dominated the Vanderbilt Commodores 56-0, and when you look at their resume, only losing to the LSU Tigers and the Dawgs, they are pretty impressive. But this is a major test for them as they go back on the road to face a team with a winning record.

Mizzou is 5-0 at home and 0-4 on the road. They also get Kelly Bryant back this week. Barry Odom’s team now needs a win just to keep its bowl hopes alive, and losing here could make that more difficult than usual. So they’ve got to figure out a way to pull out an upset, and Derek Dooley’s offense needs to come alive.

Prediction

Everything about our college football predictions suggests to take Mizzou at home. What people don’t realize, though, is Missouri is just bad on the road. They aren’t great at home. Their schedule early on at home was just really weak. So the Gators will win and cover. This spread puts too much emphasis on that home record. UF’s defense makes it hit the under.

Florida: 31 Missouri: 17 (Florida -7; Under 51)
