As a whole, Tennessee football was the best stock value possible just one month ago. The Volunteers are rising incredibly fast.

For a 6-5 team, Tennessee football is shooting up the list of trending teams in the NCAA. Know, they won’t make any playoff or New Year’s Six bowl. But their red-hot winning streak has the national media taking notice once again.

As a whole, the unit is dramatically on the rise. If they were a stock, they would have been the best value for anybody to buy at 1-4. At that point, they were about to be the underdog in five of their next six games. However, they managed to win five of their next six games and beat the spread in all six of them.

That is beyond impressive. Tennessee football has become a team to bet on in the gambling world for sure, and a team to bet on in the gambling world is certainly a team that is seeing its stock rise on a weekly basis.

UT not only now has a winning record, but they also have a chance to make a very good bowl if a bunch of things break their way. It’s shocking given how Jeremy Pruitt’s second team on Rocky Top started the season.

But while their value is rising dramatically overall, as is always the case, certain aspects are driving the rising value more than others. And, at this point, there are a few aspects that have stood in the way of that rising value recently.

Our stock report for the Vols will do what it usually does with one week left to go. Anything and everything applies, from individual players and coaches to units. And units can be specific position groups, all aspects of a certain phase of the game or, in rare cases, one whole side of the ball.

Just like we do every week, we’ll identify two stock options that are high, two stock options that are low, two stock options worth buying into and two stock options worth selling. It’s worth noting that the negatives were really hard to break down this time.

Let’s go ahead and do our best, though, just as those kids on Rocky Top have done amidst this turnaround. This is our Tennessee football stock report following the Vols’ 24-20 win over the Missouri Tigers on the road.
