Scouting Report. Brandon Kennedy. 14. Pick Analysis. Center. Redshirt Senior. player. 839

All-SEC

He should definitely be in line for the informal comeback player of the year. Brandon Kennedy suffered a season-ending injury against the West Virginia Mountaineers in his first game with Tennessee football back in the 2018 opener. Throughout the offseason, he worked his hardest to get back into shape.

However, because of the rust, he had a rocky start to the year. But midway through the season, he began to click. And now, Kennedy has thrived at center. His return to the position has been a big reason for the Vols’ gigantic improvement on the interior portion of the offensive line, and that’s been a major catalyst for their improvement this season period.

Kennedy has started every game this season at center and was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week after the Vols’ 41-21 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks. So he has already gotten some recognition throughout the conference.

That just adds to how great of a story Kennedy has to sell to voters in postseason awards. He may not be the Rimington Winner after being on the watch list at the beginning of the season, but he’s a reliable starter.

The 6’3″ 301-pound redshirt senior from Wetumpka, Ala. who transferred from the Alabama Crimson Tide may be seeking a sixth year of eligibility as well because of that injury. But even before then, he has the chance to achieve some pretty solid All-SEC recognition, even he does not make first-team.
