All-SEC
He missed the first two games of the season due to injury, and Daniel Bituli is still on here as a potential All-SEC guy. You can’t leave the 6’3″ 252-pound veteran off of the list after the way he has played, which earned him SEC Player of the Week honors at the Kentucky Wildcats. His late surge is likely to have a major impact on voters.
Despite being absent in those two games, Bituli is Tennessee football’s leading tackler once again with 74 on the year. He has four and a half tackles for a loss, three sacks, a forced fumble, two quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, and most notably, a blocked punt that he ran into the end zone for a touchdown.
In three of his last four games and his last three SEC games, Bituli has had double-digit tackles. He was in on the 3rd and 4th down stops on the goal-line stand at Kentucky, and then he had a fourth quarter sack at the Missouri Tigers. Simply put, he has come through in every way.
At the moment, Bituli is No. 14 in the SEC in tackles. But again, that’s despite missing two games. So he already has a strong case to make to be All-SEC. If he’s able to have another amazing performance against the Vanderbilt Commodores, though, then he could vault into the top 10 with his play, which would be incredible.
