At 5-0, the Tennessee Lady Vols will look to remain undefeated as they host the Golden Lions. Here is our women’s basketball Volunteers preview.

After a full week off following their win over the Stetson Hatters, the Tennessee Lady Vols are back in action Tuesday night for their third game in a six-game home stand set to last through Dec. 11. They will look to move to 6-0 in this one.

Kellie Harper’s team hosts the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions and will look to move to 2-0 on the year while playing with a ranking by their name. They moved up from No. 23 last week to No. 20 in the AP Poll this week.

However, they only just made it into the Coaches’ Poll, coming in at No. 25 this week. So this will be their first game of the season while ranked in both polls. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols’ matchup.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff comes in with an 0-3 record. They are led by first-year head coach Dawn Brown and have six returning players combined with six newcomers on the team. Simply put, they are clearly in rebuilding mode at the moment. After all, they went 5-20 last year and 2-16 in the SWAC. So this team has a lot of work ahead.

However, all three of their games this year have been on the road, and this will be their fourth in such an environment. They only lost by seven to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers to open the season, then they lost by 14 to the Milwaukee Panthers and 15 to the Illinois Fighting Illini. As a result, UT’s stadium won’t phase them.

After this game, the Tennessee Lady Vols will have another five days off before they are back in action Sunday, Dec. 1 against the Air Force Falcons. Then they will be off for a week before hosting the Texas Longhorns on Sunday, Dec. 8 and then hosting the Colorado State Rams on Wednesday, Dec. 11. That will end their home stand.

Clearly, the more difficult stretch of their six-game home stand begins in a week. But despite that being true and this being a team that beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, they showed by struggling at the East Tennessee State Buccaneers that they can’t overlook anybody. So they need to be ready to go Tuesday against UAPB.
