Tennessee basketball vs. Florida State: Live stream, time, TV, radio
Entering the final rounds of the Emerald Coast Classic, Tennessee basketball will host the Florida State Seminoles Friday. Here is our Volunteers preview.
At 5-0 and in the top 25, Tennessee basketball has its second major test of the season Friday. The Vols will face the 5-1 Florida State Seminoles in the Emerald Coast Classic for a chance to advance to the championship game Saturday.
Rick Barnes’s team already has one quality win this year, having beaten the Washington Huskies in the James Naismith Classic in Toronto, Ontario. That win got them back into the top 25, as they are ranked No. 17 in the AP Poll and No. 16 in the Coaches Poll.
A win Friday would be their second win away from home and second Power Five victory as well. They would then face the winner between the Purdue Boilermakers and the No. 20 VCU Rams. If they lose, they will face the loser between those two teams. Here is everything you need to know about Tennessee basketball’s Friday night matchup.

Coming off a Sweet Sixteen appearance, three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and two straight trips to the second weekend, one time reaching the Elite Eight, Florida State is rolling as a program in Leonard Hamilton’s 18th season. Hamilton and Barnes were both hired at their current schools by Dave Hart.
Right now, the Seminoles are 5-1. Their only loss is by two points to the Pitt Panthers on the road. However, they have a 12-point win over the Florida Gators, who entered the season with a ton of hype due to the arrival of Kerry Blackshear. So they clearly have a good team.
This could effectively be a road game for Tennessee basketball since Niceville is in the Florida panhandle. Florida State will likely have lots of fans make it to the game. As a result, the Vols will certainly have their hands full in this one. But another win here would be a huge step for Barnes’s young team.
