Kivon Bennett. 3. 839. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Edge Rusher. Sophomore. player

It was a great day for edge rushers. Tennessee football came away with three sacks and five tackles for a loss, and they were getting pressure on the Vanderbilt Commodores all game long. This was always the formula to beat them, and Derrick Ansley once again drew up a perfect game plan to make sure it happened.

However, this time, the standout player wasn’t Darrell Taylor or a defensive end such as Matthew Butler or LaTrell Bumphus, although Butler does deserve a shoutout with five tackles, a pass deflection and a quarterback hurry. Still, the standout star of the game here was Kivon Bennett, the other starting edge rusher.

Bennett had only two tackles. But one of those two tackles was a sack. That’s not the only reason he’s on this list, though. The guy also had two quarterback hurries, so he was consistently bringing pressure the whole time, which is why we put him on this list. While the defense struggled in some aspects, Bennett consistently brought pressure.

All season long, Taylor has been overshadowing what has been quite a few very effective performances by Bennett. This time, though, Bennett made the plays, and because of that, he gets a spot on this list.
