Senior. Dominick Wood-Anderson. 839. Tight End. Pick Analysis. 2. player. Scouting Report

If anybody deserved a big Senior Day, Dominick Wood-Anderson was that guy. Jeremy Pruitt got him to commit to Tennessee football as a four-star junior college transfer over Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide, and he had the first touchdown of Pruitt’s tenure on Rocky Top, back in the 2018 opener against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Jim Chaney tried to focus on the mismatch Wood-Anderson provided early in the year at 6’4″ 257 pound, but teams were selling out to keep him from making any big plays. As a result, he shifted gears midway through the year and started focusing on the wideouts and the mismatches they provided. It worked, but Wood-Anderson’s stats suffered.

So this game, after focus shifted back to the wideouts, Wood-Anderson was able to be effective again. He had arguably the best game of his college career, catching three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown. During his touchdown drive, he also had a 3rd and 6 conversion. So he was key in putting UT up 14-3 on the day and keeping them in control.

Jauan Jennings still led the team in receiving with 56 yards. But Wood-Anderson, amidst a very rough start by Jarrett Guarantano, was able to be the guy to get things going in the passing game. He also blocked well in the run game, which is why he’s so high on this list.
