Here’s one that could make Rocky Top look pretty good. The UAB Blazers managed to make it back to the Conference USA Championship game despite losing a ton of talent from last year’s team that won the league. That’s just a testament to how great of a job Bill Clark, who has connections to Jeremy Pruitt, has done with this program.
If UAB wins, the Vols could look pretty decent then with the way they blew them out. But UAB as an opponent and Clark’s connections to Pruitt aren’t the only UT connections in this conference championship game.
On the other side is Lane Kiffin, who is almost a sure bet to get hired somewhere else at the end of this season. Kiffin is rolling and looking to win his second C-USA Title in three years. This game is a battle of the last two C-USA champions. Who wins?
Prediction
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs are the only team with a winning record that the UAB Blazers beat this year. Meanwhile, Florida Atlantic beat the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Charlotte 49ers and Southern Miss Golden Eagles, who beat UAB 37-2. Playing in Boca Raton, Kiffin’s team wins in a blowout. His offense comes through, but UAB won’t score enough. So the game hits the under.
