Recapping the 2010s decade for Tennessee Vols athletics

Women’s basketball

The tragic illness that cut short Pat Summitt’s coaching tenure and then took her life followed by the unfortunate dismissal of Holly Warlick made it a very sad decade for the Tennessee Lady Vols. However, there were some positive things that happened. We break those down here.

Regardless of who the head coach was, they were all able to recruit at a high level. That is something that has not changed on Rocky Top. As a result, we should recognize those players who poured their hearts and souls into the program. Here are the top 10 women’s basketball players this decade.

Even as they failed to make the Final Four, the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team still had lots of notable standout wins. In the NCAA Tournament and the regular season, there were moments not worth forgetting. Let’s break those down here.

The amount of talent the Tennessee Lady Vols produced this decade was substantial enough that you could probably put together an amazing team if you developed it into a roster. Again, because of the tragic issues, the success did not always translate onto the court.
