4. Jimmy Holiday flipped from the TCU Horned Frogs.

While they didn’t lose any players to flips, they picked up one. Tennessee football got three-star athlete Jimmy Holiday to flip his commitment from the TCU Horned Frogs to the Vols on Wednesday, and Holiday then signed with Rocky Top. He was the second pickup of the day and a major coup for Jeremy Pruitt, who has been looking for more skill players.

Despite being a three-star, Holiday generated hype because of his athletic ability and his versatility. He can play all the skill positions on offense and defense at 6’1″ 180 pounds, and he also plays quarterback in high school. The Flora, Miss. prospect ran a 4.38 40-time this past summer as well, meaning UT picked up an extremely speedy prospect as well.

The combination of flipping Holiday and holding onto Jimmy Calloway means Pruitt brought a ton of speed to Rocky Top. Calloway was another speedy athlete. He literally got the the Jimmys portion of the Jimmys and Joes, and that’s something he had to do given his emphasis on adding more size to the team in his first couple of recruiting classes.

With Holiday’s commitment, UT has options on where to put speedy players from its 2020 class. They have them all over, and Pruitt getting him to flip is a big deal. Even if he is just a three-star, his stock is rising, and that could make him a very dangerous player in the future. Flipping players is always good news.
