After a loss to the No. 1 Stanford Cardinal, the Tennessee Lady Vols visit the Portland State Vikings. Here is our women’s basketball Volunteers preview.

Kellie Harper’s Tennessee Lady Vols continue their west coast road trip on Saturday after a horrible blowout loss at the Stanford Cardinal on Wednesday. They’ll now look to rebound in their final game before Christmas.

UT travels to Oregon to take on the Portland State Vikings Saturday evening, although it will be Saturday afternoon West Coast time. It’s their fourth road game of the year, and they enter it with a 2-1 record after barely beating the ETSU Bucs and shocking the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before losing Wednesday to Stanford.

Now at 8-2 and ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll and No. 24 in the Coaches Poll, Rocky Top is likely to fall out of the rankings by Monday. But a win in this game could help them at least stay afloat. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols matchup.

Portland State is currently 6-3 under fifth-year head coach Lynn Kennedy and on a red-hot five-game winning streak. This comes after a three-game losing streak that dropped them to 1-3. Two of those three losses were on the road, so this is a dangerous team at home.

Their record comes despite the fact that they had to replace four of their leading scorers this year from last year’s team, which went 25-8. So Kennedy has truly built this program up after going 4-26 and then 16-17 her first two seasons on the job.

This is the first meeting between the Tennessee Lady Vols and Portland State, and it’s UT’s final road game before conference play begins. Their last non-conference game before beginning SEC play is the next game on their schedule, which is set for Sunday, Dec. 29 at home against the Howard Bison. They will then host the Missouri Tigers the following Thursday.
