There were lots of memorable moments for Tennessee football from 2010 through 2019. Here are the 10 most memorable plays for the Volunteers.

Amidst arguably the worst decade in Tennessee football history, a couple of plays happened that may have been the greatest. From tipped passes caught for touchdowns to multiple Hail Mary touchdowns to runs of greater than 90 yards, lots of crazy things happened on Rocky Top.

Yes, there are forgettable plays that worked against the Vols as well, from the 13-men-on-the-field penalty against the LSU Tigers to allowing a 4th and long conversion at the Florida Gators. But amidst all the struggles, this list brings a ton of positivity to the decade and lots of fond memories for fans of Rocky Top.

As a result, in this post, we’re going to break down those memorable plays. Tennessee football had lots of crazy things work in its favor throughout the 2010s, even if it was drowned out by all the things that worked against the program.

Our criteria for breaking down these plays mostly include how big of a deal they were. Did the play result in a big win? How unlikely was it? What type of history did it make? Which team was it against? Just how impressive was the play, and who was responsible for it?

All of these things make for a nice trip down Memory Lane, and in the spirit of Christmas, it’s one worth taking. Yes, everything will ideally get much better in the future for the program as a whole, but if they do, the crazy things might not be as common. Those can often be the mark of a team that underachieves and needs crazy plays to pull out victories.

Yes, some of those happened here too. So let’s break them all down and give a highlight reel of the decade. It’ll be a fun ride to look back on all of this. These are Tennessee football’s 10 greatest plays from 2010 through 2019.
