The Tennessee Lady Vols close out the year with a home game against the Howard Bison. Here is our preview for the women’s basketball Volunteers.

Over a week after dominating the Portland State Vikings, the Tennessee Lady Vols return home for their final regular season game of 2019 in a Sunday afternoon matchup. It’s one final tune-up game as well.

Kellie Harper’s team, still ranked in the top 25, hosts the Howard Bison, who are 8-4 on the year. This is UT’s final game before SEC play begins next Thursday, so they’ll be looking to extend their winning streak to two games.

Rocky Top heads into this game with a 9-2 record. It will be intriguing to see how well they perform after such a long time off. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols matchup.

Under fifth-year head coach Ty Grace, Howard is coming off an 18-13 season with a solid start to this year. Their 8-4 record includes wins over Saint Peter’s, Loyola (MD) Hofstra, and East Carolina and George Mason on the road.

Currently, they are on a four-game winning streak, including those wins at East Carolina and George Mason. So they are playing really well right now, and the Tennessee Lady Vols need to be ready for anything thrown at them by Howard.

On the other hand, UT will open SEC play at home against the Missouri Tigers next Thursday, which is why we referred to this as a final tune-up game. It’s a decent test as well, so Harper’s team will be able to work on a few things in this one.

They can’t take it for granted, though. This could easily turn into a loss if they aren’t careful. Harper’s team likely learned about playing lesser opponents in their opener, when they survived a scare against the ETSU Bucs.
