Tennessee football: How former Vols fared in 2020 NFL divisional round
It was a hideous day for the Baltimore Ravens, as their 14-2 magical run behind likely MVP Lamar Jackson came crashing down with an embarrassing 28-12 loss to the Tennessee Titans. You can’t say much about this team and how they played on Saturday, as the Titans just stuck it to them all night long with tough defense and a dominant rushing attack.
However, Morgan Cox is a career reliable veteran, an unlikely Tennessee football player in the pros, as a long snapper for the Ravens. And he did his part to make sure they at least stayed in the game in the first half, even if Jackson, Jim Harbaugh and that rush defense did not come through. Cox clearly can’t be blamed.
The always reliable Justin Tucker nailed both field goal attempts he took, one from 49 yards out, and that allowed Baltimore to at least go into halftime with it being a one-score game. Cox’s job is to make sure the snaps are perfect on those field goals, and he did just that.
We only have Cox this low on the list because of his role. If everybody representing Rocky Top played well this week, and they did, a long snapper is not going to be that high on the list. There are only so many plays he can make, and he did what he was supposed to do in that process.
