In the midst of a two-game winning streak, the Tennessee Lady Vols visit the Gators Thursday night. Here is our women’s basketball Volunteers preview.

Still clinging to top 25 rankings in the AP and Coaches Polls, the Tennessee Lady Vols are back on the road for an intriguing matchup in the SEC Thursday night. Kellie Harper’s team could use another quality win away from home, and this is their opportunity to do it.

At 13-3 and 3-1 in the SEC, Rocky Top heads to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators. UT is on a two-game winning streak with blowout wins at the Ole Miss Rebels and at home against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Those wins came after one close loss on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats, who are now just outside of the top 10 with the way they are playing. Here is everything you need to know about the Tennessee Lady Vols’ Thursday matchup.

Despite being picked to finish at the bottom of the SEC after an 8-23 record and 3-13 SEC record, Florida has had a decent season so far under third-year head coach Cameron Newbauer. They are 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the SEC.

However, Florida’s two losses are at the Mississippi State Bulldogs, currently in the top 10 of both polls, and at home against the Kentucky Wildcats, currently No. 11 in both polls. Although they were by 46 and 20 points respectively, they still have solid victories over the Vanderbilt Commodores at home and at the Auburn Tigers, a 20-point win.

As a result, this is a dangerous team for UT to face. The Tennessee Lady Vols will return home to face the Alabama Crimson Tide Monday night after this game, and in a week they will resume their storied rivalry with the UConn Huskies. But that’s a long way away. First, they have to handle their business against a solid Florida team.
