Tennessee football: Five biggest reasons for excitement over Vols 2020 offseason

There are many reasons for excitement over Tennessee football heading into 2020. Here are the five encouraging signs for the Volunteers’ offseason.

When you finish the season with an 8-5 record, are on a six-game winning streak and secure your best recruiting class since 2015, at least on paper, you have good reason to be excited. This is the case for Tennessee football entering Jeremy Pruitt’s third year.

The Vols have lots of things on paper to be happy about, and as they get set to look to the future, this mix of success on and off the field is something that everybody involved with Rocky Top should love. Big Orange Country clearly appears to be in good shape.

But what are the reasons beyond the obvious that make everybody ecstatic about the shape of Tennessee football under Pruitt? After all, Vol Nation still has lots of things that people don’t always see contributing to this rise.

Yes, there are concerns about losing some key talent, especially guys like Daniel Bituli, Nigel Warrior, Darrell Taylor, Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway and Dominick Wood-Anderson. But many things help offset that as well.
