839. 4. player. Defensive Tackle. Baltimore, Md.. Dominic Bailey. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

With so many incoming seniors on Tennessee football’s defensive line, Dominic Bailey is a great pickup for the future under Jeremy Pruitt. After all, Emmit Gooden, Darel Middleton, Savion Williams, Aubrey Solomon, Matthew Butler, Ja’Quain Blakely and LaTrell Bumphus are all going to be gone after this year.

As a result, the 6’3″ 290-pound four-star Maryland defensive tackle out of St. Frances High School in Baltimore will have a great chance to compete for a rotational position next year. Him being an early enrollee will put a full year under his belt as well as he tries to compete for such a role. However, it won’t have any effect this year.

That means the early enrollee gives Bailey a limited advantage by the time he’ll have a chance to play significantly in the fall of 2021. UT is too deep up front this year. We didn’t even name guys like Greg Emerson, Kurrott Garland, Kingston Harris, John Mincey and Elijah Simmons. Pruitt has a ton of guys to work with to keep his unit fresh at all times.

Bailey has potential to be a force, but being an early enrollee won’t do him much good this year. The best that can be said is he’ll be able to spend the time learning the system, and a full year working in it can give him a major advantage in 2021. That’s why he’s fourth on our list.
