The Lady Volunteers basketball seniors speaking about this week leads our Tennessee Vols news for Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020.

Wednesday is here, and our coverage of the Tennessee Vols takes a unique twist. Despite the NFL Combine going on and men’s basketball being the question of the town, neither is the main story for us to get to today.

Our morning update on Rocky Top leads with members of the women’s basketball program speaking about Senior Week. There are two seniors on the team, and their last home game for UT is on Thursday. We’ll cover both of them.

Beyond that, we’ve got a recap of a baseball game and another baseball preview to cover along with a softball recap. And yes, there is a men’s basketball game to preview. But let’s start things off with the women’s basketball news.

Kamera Harris, Lou Brown discuss Senior NightMaria M. Cornelius, GoVols247

Thursday will mark the final home game for the Tennessee Lady Vols as they host the Ole Miss Rebels. It will be Senior Night for Kamera Harris and Lou Brown. Both spoke Monday about their time in Knoxville, and Kellie Harper talked about them too. Here’s a bit of what Harper said.

"“You give so much to the program, and you love it so much. It’s a celebration for you, but it’s also a stark reminder that it’s coming to an end. I loved my time at Tennessee, and I hope these two ladies can walk out of here with a win and with great memories of not just the game but of their career.”"

Baseball dominates Northern KentuckyQuinton Douglas, SI.com

Back in the polls with an undefeated record, the Tennessee Vols baseball team did not let up. They won the first game in their 10-game home stand against the Northern Kentucky Norse 15-1 to improve to 8-0 on the season. Today, they’ll play their second midweek game, hosting the UNC Asheville Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. ET.

"Freshman Christian Delashmit drew his first start of his Tennessee career on the mound. The Covington, Tenn. native flamed seven Norse batters in his debut and only allowed three hits in 4.2 innings of action."

Softball escapes UT Martin – Bryson Wright, Daily Beacon

Coming off a horrible performance in the Tampa Tournament this past weekend, the Tennessee Lady Vols softball program was at least able to end a four-game losing streak. They needed a walk-off home run, but they got back in the win column by beating the UT Martin Skyhawks 3-2 thanks to a walk-off hit from Chelsea Seggern. The win improved them to 8-6 on the year.

"The Lady Vols did not get off to the start they wanted, giving up a run in both the first and 3rd innings, without scoring one of their own. Going into the bottom of the third inning, The Lady Vols were down 2-0. Then, KK McCary hit a bomb to left center field, tying the game at 2-2. This was her first career home run and it came when Tennessee needed it most."

Men’s basketball visits Arkansas – UTSports

After a tough loss at the Auburn Tigers this past weekend, the Tennessee Vols men’s basketball team remains on the road this week. At 15-12 and 7-7 in the SEC, They will visit the Arkansas Razorbacks. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.

"A victory on Wednesday would be UT’s fourth consecutive triumph over Arkansas and would give head coach Rick Barnes his 50th regular-season SEC victory on Rocky Top. A win would also be just the fifth win for the Vols in Fayetteville in a series that dates to 1936."
