With a top 10 2020 recruiting class, Tennessee football is now set on 2021 under Jeremy Pruitt. Here are the 15 prospects the Volunteers should target.

Even if 2020 is not technically in the books yet because of five-star Zachary Evans, Tennessee football has clearly restocked the roster entering Jeremy Pruitt’s third year. As a result, the Vols have a lot to be excited about heading into the season.

This program secured its first top 10 recruiting class in five years and has a ton of talent returning. As a result, an Evans commitment would just be a major exclamation point on a ton of momentum built up dating back to UT’s six-game winning streak to close out the season.

Rocky Top just might be back this year, and that is important since Tennessee football needs to get some momentum to start recruiting for next year. With things already underway on that front, it’s time to look at where Pruitt has the program headed.

The Vols have commitments from four-star wide receiver Jordan Mosley, three star athlete Elijah Howard, defensive end Darrell Jackson, who is not yet rated on Rivals but is a three-star on 247Sports Composite, and three-star defensive backs Jay Jones and Nate Evans. Three-star defensive tackle Isaac Washington was committed for a month but decommitted.

As a result, they already have things moving. But given their needs going forward and the expectations surrounding them, they still have a heck of a lot more work to do. In this post, we’re going to break it all down by looking at the top targets they need to be pursuing.

We will be referencing Rivals for their ratings, but ratings aren’t our only criteria. Needs is a big one and the chances the Vols have to actually secure the commitments matter a lot. Included in those chances is where they stand right now and where the player comes from. As a tiebreaker in some cases, we can go to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Using all those methods, there are plenty of factors in play for us to break down where Pruitt should be looking. So let’s dive right into it. These are the top 15 recruiting prospects for Tennessee football to target in its 2021 class.
