Scouting Report. 3-star. Dietrick Pennington. 13. player. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. 839

Despite loading up the trenches and starting two freshmen on the outside last year, Tennessee football still needs some help at offensive tackle going forward. As a result, they should be looking to gettable in-state guys who are being overlooked but bring a set of diverse skills and lots of potential to the role.  They will need depth out there soon enough.

Dietrick Pennington brings those things. Coming out of Evangelical Christian School (ECS) in Cordova, which is just outside of Memphis, Pennington keeps that West Tennessee pipeline happening that Jeremy Pruitt has rebuilt back up. He is another three-star on Rivals, but standing at 6’5″ 310 pounds, he’s got the right size.

On top of that, Pennington can play defensive tackle. That’s where he brings a diverse set of skills, and he is actually a four-star on the 247Sports Composite ratings while listed as a defensive lineman. Meanwhile, he is another top 50 player at his position who is a top 10 player in the state as an offensive lineman on Rivals. So the guy can be a lot of things.

Currently UT is the favorite to land him by a large majority on the Rivals FanFutureCast. However, there are no cuts yet that any team has made, so no experts are yet predicting where he will land. So the Vols need to make sure they keep going after him.
