Pick Analysis. 4-star. player. 11. 839. Scouting Report. Cornerback. Nyland Green

Sticking with elite cornerbacks, Tennessee football already does have a pipeline into Georgia. And they have a head coach who was a former secondary coach and has deep connections into Georgia. As a result, the Vols should go hard after any elite defensive back they can get when it comes to players from that state. Nyland Green is one of those players.

A four-star on Rivals, Green is the No. 13 ranked cornerback nationally and the No. 14 ranked player in the state of Georgia. He comes out of Newton High School in Covington, Ga., and is a top 170 player nationally as well. At 6’1″ 166 pounds, he also has great height to play the position and just needs to put on more weight so he can be more physical.

However, Green already has a lot of the positive qualities necessary for the next level. The strength factor will come, especially with the conditioning personnel Jeremy Pruitt has been able to put together in Knoxville. Everything else shows he is a great prospect.

Now, there are no favorites yet on the 247Sports Crystal Ball or the Rivals FutureCast, and the list for him hasn’t even been trimmed yet. However, Rocky Top is the favorite by a majority in the Rivals FanFutureCast, so they are clearly in play. With all their Georgia connections, the Vols should go after him as much as possible.
