3. At Kentucky Wildcats 2017-2018

Tennessee wins 61-59

Jordan Bowden: 13 points; 8 rebounds; 2 steals

Lamonte Turner: 16 points; 2 rebounds

Now this was one of the most memorable performances. Tennessee basketball was trying to do something in this game it hadn’t done since 2006, which is win at Rupp Arena. The Vols were also going for their first regular season sweep over the Kentucky Wildcats since 1998-1999. At the time, they were ranked No. 15, and UK was ranked No. 24.

Well, in a team effort, Jordan Bowden and Lamonte Turner led the way. Bowden led all starters with 13 points. Now, he only hit one of five three-point attempts, but he hit four of eight shots overall, and he made all four free throws. He also had eight rebounds and two steals, so he did a bit of everything without his shot falling.

Turner, meanwhile, was just the scoring star, and he did it as the sixth-man. He led the team with 16 points, going six-of-10 from the field and hitting four-of-seven three-point attempts. What stands out more for both of them, though, is the fact that they stepped up in crucial moments.

Bowden had 11 points in the second half after being quiet in the first. Turner had 11 in the first half and only five in the second half, but he scored when it counted. Down by one with 30 seconds left, Turner hit a key three-pointer to put the Vols up. Then Bowden followed that up with a steal on the next possession, and that secured the deal. So these two were the stars in this huge win.
