4. NFL Draft events potentially relocated, delayed or canceled

This affects all Vols from this past team looking to make the draft. Darrell Taylor, Daniel Bituli, Dominick Wood-Anderson, Jauan Jennings and Marquez Callaway at least got to participate in the NFL Draft Combine. But Nigel Warrior was left off that list, and the Pro Day was going to be his chance to showcase his abilities. Well, the Pro Day has been canceled.

Tennessee football was finally set to have a few players taken in the draft, something that hadn’t happened in a few years. The cancellation of Pro Day, which one of their biggest stars was relying on, throws a major wrench in that, especially for guys like Jennings, who was hurt more than helped by his performance at the combine.

Beyond the Pro Day, however, we aren’t sure how the draft itself will unfold. Reports are leaking that it could move from Las Vegas to just a television studio with no crowd. It could also be delayed, as right now it is scheduled to begin April 23. There’s a very good chance that the COVID-19 outbreak is still a big deal during that time.

Simply put, this was the first draft in which Jeremy Pruitt could showcase some of the talent he has developed, and there have been a ton of curveballs thrown his way in trying to do that related to the coronavirus outbreak. All of these former Vols take a hit with this, and we don’t know how it’s going to work out. But for now, canceling the Pro Day is the biggest of these impacts.
