Tennessee football: Vols WR Jauan Jennings’ five best NFL Draft landing spots
Many potential 2020 NFL Draft landing spots exist for Jauan Jennings of Tennessee football. These would be the top five for the Volunteers wide receiver.
We already talked about how this year’s NFL Draft is more about production than potential when it comes to Tennessee football talent. Well, nobody is going to have to rely on proven production more than Jauan Jennings.
After an underwhelming combine, largely due to his 4.72 40-time, Jennings’ draft stock has fallen. But what is being ignored is the fact that he had nearly 1,000 yards receiving and eight touchdowns despite a quarterback carousel that would limit anybody’s production.
Also, part of the selling point for Jennings are some physical attributes that could make up for his lack of speed. He has a great vertical, solid hands and is very physical, which is why he was Tennessee football’s go-to receiver last year. The guy led all receivers in yards after first contact after a catch.
Those things are valuable, and it means the book on him is clear. Jennings needs to go to a team in the NFL Draft with a need at wide receiver, but specifically one who can bring size to the table. Either a team looking for a go-to No. 1 option or one looking for a slot option with size, a guy who can be a threat in red zone plays, would be a great spot for Jennings to land.
As we get set to break down those top spots for Jennings, we’re basing this off of where he has the best chance of making the roster long-term and then making an actual long-term impact. In fact, it would be better if he signed with some of these teams as an undrafted free agent rather than be taken high by others.
It doesn’t look like he’ll go high in the NFL Draft anyway because people overvalue 40-times. So let’s look at where he could prove himself to be the biggest steal. These are the five best potential landing spots in the pros for former Tennessee football wide receiver Jauan Jennings.
