As the leader of Tennessee football’s defense, Volunteers linebacker Daniel Bituli proved he could fit anywhere. Here are his best NFL Draft landing spots.

Although Jauan Jennings was the most notable player for Tennessee football last year, Daniel Bituli was the most important. He was the leader of the defense and held everything together, and that makes him an intriguing candidate in the 2020 NFL Draft.

There’s a reason the Vols lost their first two games at home to Group of Five schools when he was out. That alone should be a selling point as Bituli tries to prove himself to pro scouts. From a purely fundamentals perspective along with a level of versatility, Bituli could really fit in anywhere.

After all, Bituli demonstrated that he could be an edge rusher in a 4-3 or an inside linebacker commanding the entire defense in a 3-4 during his time with Tennessee football. That should up his NFL Draft stock more than most other variables.

As we get set to take a look at Bituli’s five best landing spots, that combination of things means we’ll be looking at teams who have a need for a linebacker or an edge rusher. Teams who need both will really fit the mold.

We’ll also analyze the quality of the franchise, as Bituli is a guy who needs to sell his production more than anything else, and that requires competent management filled with people who actually pay attention to detail. Yes, those franchises exist at the next level.

With a solid performance on drills at the combine, a 4.84 40-time and a 6’2″ 246-pound frame, Bituli meets the physical requirements for the pros, even if he doesn’t leap of the screen. The fact that he has produced well means he should be able to succeed if people give him a look.

So where is he most likely to get that fair shot to demonstrate what he can do? Let’s go ahead and take a look at that here. These are the five best NFL Draft landing spots for Tennessee football linebacker Daniel Bituli.
