After being shut out last year, Tennessee football is expected to have a couple of names called this weekend. Here is our Volunteers 2020 NFL Draft primer.

It was a rough decade for Tennessee football in the 2010s when it came to the NFL Draft. The Vols were had no names called three different times, including last year. That is not common for a program that prides itself on producing pro talent.

Well, heading into this year, things have been  different. Rocky Top was never expected to fill the draft boards this year, but they had some guys who were always expected to be called. Jeremy Pruitt deserves lots of credit for improving the NFL Draft stock of lots of these guys.

Because of him and the talent on Rocky Top, Tennessee football has lots of guys in the 2020 NFL Draft class who could end up making an impact long-term. Even with a virtual version of the draft, we have set up a page for all the coverage you need before, during and after the event.

In this, we will provide live updates and produce news stories on those updates as the draft takes place over the next three days. However, while that happens, there are plenty of feature stories ahead of and during the draft to get you ready.

We have multiple sections for our draft talk. The first page after this one will include live updates surrounding the players specifically and what happens to them relative to the draft. After that, we’ll have a page dedicated to developing stories throughout the draft. These are news stories that don’t involve drafts and free agent signings of specific players.

The final two pages will revolve around feature stories. One page includes columns and stories specifically related to this year. Then there are the columns and stories relayed to UT’s all-time history in the draft. So let’s go ahead and begin with our coverage. Starting with live player updates, this is our Tennessee football 2020 NFL Draft primer.
