Former Florida Gators commit Kamar Wilcoxson committed to Tennessee football Monday. The Volunteers safety then schooled a UF coach on Twitter.

One of the big steals of the 2021 recruiting class for Tennessee football has been Kamar Wilcoxson so far. A former Florida Gators commitment, the four-star defensive back out of IMG Academy announced his commitment to the Vols in a video on Twitter.

According to Ryan Callahan of GoVols247, Wilcoxson committed to Florida as a fan of the program growing up. However, he acknowledged that he was making a decision based on that and without thinking it through, which is why he decommitted in March and decided to commit to Tennessee football a month later.

Well, that commitment didn’t sit well with a Florida coach. Assistant Director of Player Personnel John Herron tweeted a picture with a question after his commitment, something that appeared to be clearly directed at Wilcoxson.

Well, not one to take that lying down, Wilcoxson responded. According to Grant Ramey of GoVols247, he sent a tweet back that was later deleted about how pathetic Herron’s tweet was. Here’s what he said.

"“lol you mad jit? You grown throwing shots, I can’t wait til I see y’all boys!”"

Now, he did delete the tweet, according to Ramey. But he was right. What grown coach goes at a kid for committing to another school? Well, despite the deletion, Wilcoxson did retweet another athlete lecturing the Florida coach on being a professional. Simply put, he was clearly not happy about how everything played out. Here’s what he retweeted.

To be honest, the tweet was not that bad if it were coming from a regular adult fan. But a Florida coach should probably let that go. After all, he’s a bit too close to the situation to be publicly trolling people over where they commit, whether or not he is okay with the decision. Of course, Tennessee football fans love nothing more than upsetting anybody in Gator Nation.

The Vols have been upsetting their rivals over the past two days, as  they lured four-star edge rusher Dylan Brooks out of Alabama on Sunday and away from the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers. That they upset a Florida coach when doing it to them made it that much sweeter for Rocky Top.
