Scouting Report. Wide Receiver. Pick Analysis. New Orleans Saints (UDFA). Marquez Callaway. 4. player. 15

If any franchise has made a habit out of finding overlooked Tennessee football prospects over the past few years, it’s the New Orleans Saints. Alvin Kamara fell into their lap in the third round, and even they didn’t know how great he would be. His play revitalized Drew Brees in this late stage of his career along with Sean Payton’s offense as a whole.

Meanwhile, Shy Tuttle was an undrafted free agent last year, and he emerged as a reliable defensive tackle. Because of that, Marquez Callaway is going to a great situation with a coach who is bound to give him a look. Hey, UT receivers have done well here too, as Robert Meachem enjoyed a solid run in the city.

Although the 6’1″ 205-pound prospect needs some time to develop, he’s going to a pass-happy system that will allow him to thrive. With a clear need at receiver, Callaway could get some early reps as well, and Emmanuel Sanders is actually a great signing by the Saints to help bring Callaway along.

We should note that they didn’t take any receivers in the draft, so Callaway is bound to get a look. If Callaway proves to be faster than the 4.55 40-time he displayed at the NFL Combine, which coaches have hinted he is, then he may even work his way into the roster a bit sooner. Simply put, he’s in a solid situation.
