Tennessee football: Evaluating 2021 RB class at dead period
Top realistic prospects
Kyree Young
- Ratings: Four-star (Rivals); Three-star (247Sports; ESPN)
- Size: 6’2″ 210 pounds
- Hometown: Massillon, Ohio
- High School: Washington
As of right now, Tennessee football appears to be competing with the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Iowa State Cyclones, the Kentucky Wildcats and the LSU Tigers to land this very tall running back. All signs appear to point to Kyree Young heading to UK, but the Vols are clearly in play, so there’s no reason for them not to keep going after him.
Kenji Christian
- Ratings: Three-star (Unanimous)
- Size: 6’2″ 190 pounds
- Hometown: Pinson, Ala.
- High School: Pinson Valley
Another tall running back, Kenji Christian appears to have no favorites right now. Coming out of Alabama, the Vols clearly have multiple connections to try to land him, and they are a favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast, although that means very little.
Jarquez Hunter
- Ratings: Three-star (Unanimous)
- Size: 5’10” 191 pounds
- Hometown: Philadelphia, Miss.
- High School: Neshoba Central
Once again, Rocky Top is in strong contention for a running back. This time, we’re looking at the shorter guys. Jarquez Hunter appears to be down to the Vols and Auburn Tigers, but there’s no telling as to where the Mississippi prospect will land just yet.
Joseph McKay
- Ratings: Three-star (Unanimous)
- Size: 6’0″ 205 pounds
- Hometown: Phoenix City, Ala.
- High School: Central
Heading back to Alabama, Joseph McKay is another solid recruit who has the standard size for a running back. There are no leaders for him right now, but once again, UT is a favorite by a slight majority on the nearly worthless Rivals Fan Future Cast. As a result, he is worth looking into.
