Top elite prospects high on Vols

Quenton Barnes

  • Ratings: Four-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’3″ 180 pounds
  • Hometown: Antioch, Tenn.
  • High School: Cane Ridge

An in-state prospect who provides a lot of size, Quenton Barnes would be another great pickup for Tennessee football. Currently, the Vols could be in good shape for him, as they are in his top five. They are also the favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast to land him, although there is no favorite on the official Rivals Future Cast. As a result, he should be UT’s top prospect.

Deion Colzie

  • Ratings: Four-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’4″ 193 pounds
  • Hometown: Athens, Ga.
  • High School: Athens Academy

Jeremy Pruitt has been invading Georgia ever since he arrived on Rocky Top. Could he do it again with Deion Colzie? Once again, the Vols are targeting a wideout with amazing size, and they are in the top 10 for this guy. Now, the Georgia Bulldogs are the unanimous favorite to land him on the Rivals Future Cast, but Pruitt has gotten talent out of Athens before.

Brashard Smith

  • Ratings: Four-star (Rivals, ESPN); Three-star (247Sports)
  • Size: 5’10” 180 pounds
  • Hometown: Miami, Fla.
  • High School: Miami Palmetto

After two guys providing major height advantages, the Vols are going for speed as they pursue Brashard Smith. Coming out of South Florida, he may be undersized, but he already runs a 4.4 40. Now, the Florida Gators are a majority favorite to land Smith on the Rivals Future Cast, but UT is definitely in play, so they should keep pushing for him.

Tray Curry

  • Ratings: Four-star (ESPN); Three-star (Rivals, 247Sports)
  • Size: 6’4″ 200 pounds
  • Hometown: Cleveland, Tenn.
  • High School: Bradley Central

Another in-state wideout with great size, Tray Curry comes from the southeastern portion of the state of Tennessee. Rocky Top is already a 100 percent favorite to land him, so this is probably their most exciting elite prospect. He is a top 100 receiver nationally, so he gives Jim Chaney even more size to work with here.
