Other top prospects somewhat in play

Note: This is a continuation of the previous slide, although these prospects are less worth pursuing either because they are not in a location that makes them likely to choose Tennessee football or they are just less prestigious in terms of their ratings. However, they have no leaders and were offered by UT, so they are worth mentioning.

Tyrese Johnson

  • Ratings: Three-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’2″ 190 pounds
  • Hometown: New Orleans, La.
  • High School: Booker T. Washington

Although he has no leaders, Tyrese Johnson is a three-star in the heart of LSU Tigers country. He’s not worth a ton of recruiting effort, as a result, but it couldn’t hurt for Jeremy Pruitt to establish a connection to that state. The Vols got some talent from New Orleans in the past, most notably, a guy named Peyton Manning.

Breon Pass

  • Ratings: Three-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’0″ 162 pounds
  • Hometown: Reidsville, N.C.
  • High School: Reidsville

ACC country seems to be the focus for Breon Pass, and with the way Mack Brown is recruiting for the North Carolina Tar Heels, Jeremy Pruitt may not want to go too hard for a three-star so dramatically undersized at 162 pounds. However, he clearly has potential, and UT would do well to win some recruiting battles with Brown. So with no leaders Pass is in play.

JoJo Blackmon

  • Ratings: Three-star (Rivals); Two-Star (247Sports)
  • Size: 5’10” 175 pounds
  • Hometown: Pensacola, Fla.
  • High School: Escambia

Yes, there is a pipeline in Florida. But JoJo Blackmon has a two-star rating on one of the recruiting services, so how much time should Jeremy Pruitt be spending on a 5’10” 175-pound guy? Maybe he provides something nobody sees. He is on the list, after all.

Jaden Smith

  • Ratings: Not rated
  • Size: 5’10” 170 pounds
  • Hometown: Loganville, Ga.
  • High School: Grayson

Now we go directly to a UT pipeline, the state of Georgia. However, for right now, Jaden Smith has no ratings, and there is no indication of Tennessee football being in the lead, even if there’s no indication of them being out of play either.
