Tennessee football: Top 10 out-of-state Vols on 2020 roster
These are the best Tennessee football Volunteers from outside of the state for 2020.
We’ve talked about the importance of Jeremy Pruitt maintaining a base of in-state talent even as he goes national to recruit players for Tennessee football. Entering his third year in 2020, his overall plan appears to be working out.
The Vols have lots of in-state guys they can build around, but then they have splash players from all over the country coming in to help out as well. In some case, players aren’t even from this country. That’s how far UT’s reach is.
Now, some of Tennessee football’s top players from outside the state were brought in by Butch Jones. In many cases, though, they weren’t properly developed until Pruitt arrived and started working with them, and now their potential is through the roof.
In this post, we’re going to take a look at the most important players on UT from outside the state. As we did with the in-state talent, we’re basing this off what players did last year and what the depth chart looks like this year.
As a result, we’re not including any new recruits who haven’t played at the college level on this list. These are all proven players who have a chance to take their production to the next level, if they haven’t already, for 2020.
Some of these players come from neighboring states where the Vols are establishing a pipeline, such as Georgia or Alabama. Others are coming from across the country like California. And, as we mentioned, some are from another country altogether.
What’s clear, though, is that Rocky Top will need all of these guys for Pruitt to be successful in his third season. So who are we talking about? How much do they matter? Let’s break it all down here. These are Tennessee football’s top 10 players from outside the state in 2020.
