Top elite prospects part 2

Sage Ryan

  • Ratings: Four-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 5’11” 190 pounds
  • Hometown: Lafayette, La.
  • High School: Lafayette Christian Academy

There is some dispute about whether or not Sage Ryan is a cornerback or a safety, but what’s not in dispute is how elite of a prospect he is. The LSU Tigers are the unanimous favorite on the Rivals Future Cast and 247Sports Crystal Ball to keep him in Louisiana. However, UT did make his top 10, so Jeremy Pruitt could definitely keep things interesting.

De’Jahn Warren (JuCo; Lackawanna C.C.; Scranton, Pa.)

  • Ratings: Four-star (Rivals); Three-star (247Sports)
  • Size: 6’0″ 185 pounds
  • Hometown: Hyattsville, Md.
  • High School: Suitland

De’Jahn Warren, who is the top-ranked junior college cornerback, has Tennessee football in his top seven. The Vols could use a JuCo guy with expected departures next year, but the Penn State Nittany Lions are the unanimous favorites on the Rivals Future Cast and 247Sports Crystal Ball. Being from the Mid-Atlantic is impacting Warren, so UT has work to do if it wants to land him.

Damarius McGhee

  • Ratings: Four-star (247Sports, ESPN); Two-star (Rivals)
  • Size: 6’0″ 162 pounds
  • Hometown: Pensacola, Fla.
  • High School: Pensacola Catholic

As of right now, Damarius McGhee is a star rising faster than the recruiting services can all keep up with. The Florida prospect brings great height as a cornerback, and the Vols are in his top five. There are no 247Sports Crystal Ball or Rivals Future Cast predictions yet, but the Rivals Fan Future Cast has UT as the favorite by a majority. As a result, Pruitt is very much in play for McGhee.
