Elite prospects still in play

Note: These are top prospects who are highly rated and haven’t trimmed their lists yet, meaning there is nothing to indicate Tennessee football is out of play for them, but there is nothing to indicate the Vols are high on their radar either. 

Terrion Arnold (Athlete on Rivals)

  • Ratings: Four-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’1″ 180 pounds
  • Hometown: Tallahassee, Fla.
  • High School: John Paul II Catholic

The Rivals Future Cast is down to the Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles for this Florida safety who runs a 4.42 40-time, and the 247Sports Crystal Ball is down to FSU and the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, the Rivals Fan Future Cast has the Vols as a favorite by a plurality. So Terrion Arnold could land anywhere.

Ceyair Wright (Athlete)

  • Ratings: Four-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’0″ 173 pounds
  • Hometown: Los Angeles, Calif.
  • High School: Loyola

Although the USC Trojans are a unanimous favorite to land this California prospect, who is most likely going to play defensive back, there are no 247Sports Crystal Ball favorites. As a result, Ceyair Wright’s recruitment could be up in the air, which would favor the Vols.

Tyler Morehead (Athlete on 247Sports)

  • Ratings: Four-star (ESPN); Three-star (247Sports, Rivals)
  • Size: 5’10” 192 pounds
  • Hometown: Homerville, Ga.
  • High School: Clinch County 

Tyler Morehead is a Georgia safety who appears to be eyeing the Florida Atlantic Owls. They are at least the unanimous 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite to land him. However, there are no favorites on the Rivals Future Cast. As a result, the Vols could once again be very much in play.

Zamon Ross (Athlete on ESPN)

  • Ratings: Four-star (ESPN); Three-star (Rivals, 247Sports)
  • Size: 6’1″ 200 pounds
  • Hometown: Ellaville, Ga.
  • High School: Schley County

Zamon Ross adds to our list of safeties with great size. There are no favorites on the Rivals Future Cast or 247Sports Crystal Ball to land this guy, another Georgia prospect. So once again, Rocky Top has every reason to pursue him heavily.
