The best Tennessee football Volunteers quarterbacks have all had amazing clutch games.

There have been plenty of times in the history of Tennessee football when the Vols somehow pulled a rabbit out of their hat to win games. Often times, when all hope seemed lost, their quarterback took over and led an epic finish in a clutch moment.

What makes a clutch quarterback? Well, it doesn’t always have to be a player’s best game. In fact, it’s often not. However, if they came through when the game got tight and the chips were stacked against them, they earned clutch points. The magnitude of the game itself also adds to the value.

Multiple championships and big games have been won by Tennessee football thanks to such clutch performances. Their performances are a huge part of the history of the program and a big reason for the success it has had.

In this post, we’re going to rank those top clutch performances by Vols quarterbacks. Some of these performances were breakout games for the specific quarterback, and others may have been the only good game the quarterback ever had.

All of these performances, however, led to some of the most memorable wins on Rocky Top. To qualify for this list, the quarterback has to have come through in very tense moments late to help lead the program to victory.

To be fair, we will only have one clutch performance per quarterback. Plenty can have multiple ones, but there are so many that lots of guys deserve mentions. We’re going to do our best to make sure that happens.

So which signal callers had the most impressive big moments, and how did it impact their careers on Rocky Top? Also, what impact did it have on the Vols’ season? Let’s break all of that down here. These are the top 10 clutch performances by quarterbacks in Tennessee football history.
