9. Joshua Dobbs: 2016

Tennessee beats Florida Gators 38-28

Throughout his career, Josh Dobbs had many clutch performances, including his breakout game in which he led a 14-point comeback to beat the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road with three minutes to go in 2014 and then his 21-point comeback to beat the highly ranked Georgia Bulldogs in 2015. He had 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards and five total touchdowns in both games.

Then there was the Hail Mary to Jauan Jennings to beat Georgia in 2016. However, the Hail Mary was luck. While the other two could have made the list, we’re going with Tennessee football’s sole win over the Florida Gators the past 15 years. Again, Dobbs had 400 total yards and five total touchdowns. UT had fallen behind 21-0 in the first half, though, and trailed 21-3 at halftime.

Then Dobbs had his second interception of the game on the opening drive of the second half with . After blowing leads to UF the previous two years, nobody had a lot of faith in them. However, at that moment, everything changed.

Dobbs threw touchdowns to Jalen Hurd and Ethan Wolf. He then connected with Jennings for the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter before finding Josh Malone and running in a touchdown himself. In six possessions, Dobbs scored five touchdowns and turned 21-3 into 38-21.

Despite the score not being close, Dobbs’ play was so dominant, with most of the damage coming in the fourth, that we had to put it on the list. His play ending the losing streak to Florida only made it more impressive.
