These will be the hardest Tennessee football Volunteers records to break.

From all-time career records to single-game records, Tennessee football has some accomplished that have withstood the test of time throughout its very long history. Although records are meant to be broken, some prove harder than others.

In many cases, rules changes are the reason for records that once stood for decades being broken on a yearly basis. However, those changes along with the evolution in football schemes also allow for some records to become harder and harder to break.

Many of Tennessee football’s most impressive records stand out on their own because of those changes. To be fair, the Vols have other records that were impressive for any time and are unlikely to be broken simply because of how amazing it is that they were ever set in the first place.

As we look back at some of the greatest accomplishments in school history, let’s look at some of those records. In this post, we’re going to rank those statistical accomplishments that will be the toughest to top in the future.

Such accomplishments can include single-game, single-season or all-time accomplishments, and they can also be team or individual accomplishments. Something done in consecutive fashion, even if it carried over to multiple seasons, could also make the list.

Our basis for these records, as we mentioned, will be how impressive they were on their own and how much tougher rules changes will make it to break them. There’s a good chance that many of these records will never be broken given the way the game is changing.

So just how towering are these accomplishments? What did they mean for the Vols at the time, and what impact did they have on the program’s history? Let’s go ahead and break that all down. These are Tennessee football’s 10 toughest records to break in school history.
