Shooting Guard. Philadelphia 76ers. Josh Richardson. 2. 93. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player

Fifth year; 6’5″ 200 pounds

Yes, on the other side of Grant Williams in the first round will be Josh Richardson, one of Tennessee basketball’s greatest four-year developmental projects of all time. Cuonzo Martin signed Richardson as a three-star, and he rode the bench as a defensive specialist who was an offensive liability his first couple of years.

However, after developing an outside shot, over time, Richardson became a complete threat at shooting guard, which is why he emerged as a starter for the Miami Heat his first four years in the pros. He’s got NBA Playoffs experience as well, playing in the 2015-2016 playoffs and starting in the 2017-2018 playoffs. As a result, he was a great addition for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Philly is locked into the sixth seed despite tons of talent, but Richardson is one of the only consistent overachievers on this team. For the year, he averaged 13.7 points per game along with over three rebounds, nearly three assists and nearly one steal while shooting 43 percent from the field and 34 percent from the three-point line. He started 53 games and averaged 30.7 minutes.

In the bubble, the guy’s production has been more inconsistent, as he dropped 34 points in a game but also scored five points or fewer in three of his seven appearances. Still, he hits double-figures on a regular basis, and he’ll likely be a key player to stretch the floor for the Sixers in the postseason, so look for him to provide a ton of value on that front.
