Pittsburgh Steelers. 3. team. 55. . .

Dustin Colquitt, Joshua Dobbs, Cameron Sutton

One of the greatest punters in history headlines the Pittsburgh Steelers’ collection of former Tennessee football players, but the return of a former UT quarterback and continued presence of a former UT cornerback push this into the top three. In terms of raw number of players, Pittsburgh is actually tied for the most former Vols of any team in the NFL.

However, production forced us to put them at No. 3. Dustin Colquitt is the punter headlining this team. He joined Pittsburgh this offseason after a 15-year career with the Kansas City Chiefs that culminated with a Super Bowl title. He’s the one guy of the three certain to start, and he’ll continue his production that may make him one of the rare punters to go to the Hall-of-Fame.

Josh Dobbs returns to the franchise that drafted him. He spent two years with the Steelers before going to the Jacksonville Jaguars this past year. Pittsburgh claimed him off waivers. Cam Sutton, who was an All-American return specialist in college and in the same year as Dobbs, is in the fourth and final year of his contract with the Steelers and the backup nickel.

With Ben Roethlisberger still listed as the starter, there’s a great chance Dobbs sees the field. He’ll have to compete with Mason Rudolph for the second-string job, but there’s a good chance he earns it. That would move Pittsburgh up this list. Sutton will likely just remain a reliable backup, but anything’s possible when you’re one injury away from starting, which he is.
