Honorable Mentions

Rakeem Boyd

Running back; Arkansas Razorbacks

Senior; Houston, Texas

Despite the changes to the Arkansas Razorbacks with Sam Pittman as head coach, Rakeem Boyd is a proven running back. The 6’0″ 206-pounds graduate of Stratford High School is averaging over six yards a carry and has nearly 2,200 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns in two years after transferring from Independence Community College in Kansas. He’ll be dangerous.

Drake Jackson

Offensive lineman; Kentucky Wildcats

Senior; Versailles, Ky.

If there is one reason behind the expectations for Mark Stoops’ Kentucky Wildcats this season, the offensive line is that reason. Drake Jackson is the standout star of that group. The 6’2″ 292-pound graduate of Woodford County High School may be the best center in the SEC, so he’ll be a lot for Tennessee football to handle, even though they did a pretty good job last year.

Dimitri Moore

Linebacker; Vanderbilt Commodores

Senior; Cedar Hill, Texas

Although they lost so much offensive talent and talent in general, Derek Mason’s Vanderbilt Commodores have a couple of defensive weapons, and he knows how to coach them. Dimitri Moore, a 6’3″ 234-pound senior out of Cedar Hill High School, had 99 tackles, six tackles for a loss and three pass deflections last year. Last year against UT, he had 11 tackles.

Israel Mukuamu

Defensive back; South Carolina Gamecocks

Junior; Bossier City, La.

As Will Muschamp tries to rebound with the South Carolina Gamecocks, he’ll once again rely on his defense. Last year, Israel Mukuamu had had 59 tackles, two tackles for a loss, nine pass deflections and four interceptions, including a pick-six. He had four tackles and a tackle for a loss against UT, so the 6’4″ 205-pound graduate of Parkway High School in Louisiana is elite.

Jaylen Waddle

Wide receiver; Alabama Crimson Tide

Junior; Houston Texas

He has All-American potential after a kickoff and a punt return touchdown last year and 24.4 yards per punt return. However, Jaylen Waddle had a drop-off in receiving with 560 yards and six touchdowns. The 5’10” 182-pounds graduate of Episcopal High School had over 100 yards receiving against Tennessee football in 2018 but was limited last year.
