Here are photos from the Tennessee football Volunteers’ victory at the Gamecocks.

Jeremy Pruitt won his first opener with Tennessee football Saturday, holding off the South Carolina Gamecocks for a 31-27 win on the road. It’s the Vols’ second straight win against USC and Will Muschamp, who had won seven straight against Rocky Top before then.

While the game itself was crazy with a pick-six, a fumbled punt, a missed field goal and numerous missed throws, the setting was even odder. As it was the opener for both teams, this was the first time we got to see what it would look like at stadiums with limited capacity.

Williams-Brice Stadium was at such capacity, but it still managed to get loud. That plus the game itself had many memorable moments captured. Let’s take a look at them here. Here are some photos from Tennessee football’s win at South Carolina.

Given the state of the season, Tennessee football fans are thrilled with this win. South Carolina and the Kentucky Wildcats are what you might call the two toss-up games for the Vols when they have five likely losses, three of which may be circled losses. Handling this game, assuming they run the table in their three should-win games, is a big deal.

As a result, it doesn’t matter how ugly the game was for them. They will take it and be happy, and given the way the preseason went, it was only natural that this game would be ugly. Teams are going to need time to develop and get back into rhythm. UT took its first step to doing that in Columbia, S.C. with a win here.

Up next for the Vols is their home opener against the Missouri Tigers at noon next week. South Carolina meanwhile, is only about to see things get more brutal, as it visits the Florida Gators, a game that is also at noon.
