These are our grades for the Tennessee football Volunteers at South Carolina.

There were lots of sloppy mistakes made by Tennessee football in its win over the South Carolina Gamecocks this past weekend. From numerous missed throws to a couple of botched special teams plays, Jeremy Pruitt has a lot to clean up.

Nonetheless, Rocky Top pulled out another close win away from home, its fourth over its last five games dating back to last year, and it has now won seven straight, the longest winning streak of all Power Five teams. Simply put, the Vols have to be doing something right.

After pulling out such a win, though, they now have to return home and think about the Missouri Tigers. If Tennessee football is going to win that game and build off of this momentum, it first has to analyze where it did well and where it struggled.

Well, we’re here to do that for them, as we return with our weekly report cards that we do after every game. These grades are from an A to an F scale, and they take everything into account. We’ll be grading the Vols at every position and separating them by different units, including offense, defense, special teams and even coaching.

Obviously, we don’t jut take into account what they looked like. Part of what we do is give weight to the type of opponent they had. That’s a bit trickier in the opening game of the season, but we all know what Will Muschamp likes to run at South Carolina and that he will always make sure he has an elite defense.

How does that reflect on Pruitt’s team’s play over the weekend? Will it mean anything going forward? Let’s go ahead and break all of that down. This is our report card for Tennessee football coming off the Vols’ 31-27 win at the South Carolina Gamecocks.
