These are five key Mizzou players against the Tennessee football Volunteers.

With a new head coach in Eliah Drinkwitz, the Missouri Tigers will be looking for new standout stars. After Mizzou played just one game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, they don’t give Tennessee football much to go on when preparing for that team.

However, the Tigers have plenty of proven talent based on what happened the past couple of seasons, and Drinkwitz’s coaching in many cases made clear that he is still going to rely on much of that talent this year. That could become a key in this game.

As a result, Jeremy Pruitt likely has an idea as to where Mizzou will turn to for help when the two face off on Saturday. His track record suggests he’ll likely be prepared for new schemes and systems on Saturday.

After all, Tennessee football did beat the South Carolina Gamecocks when they had a new quarterback in Collin Hill and a new offensive coordinator in Mike Bobo. That should show the Vols are prepared to handle what Mizzou will throw at them. Add in the fact that Ryan Walters is still on as defensive coordinator, and there should be some familiarity on that side of the ball.

As we get set to preview the players for Missouri who will be key in this game, all of these factors will be relevant. We’ll be taking into account which players are proven stars, who is likely to be crucial based on what Drinkwitz wants to do and which players pose bad matchups for UT.

Despite Rocky Top being favored to win, containing these players is crucial to following through with those expectations. If not, Mizzou could definitely pull off a major upset or at least provide a major, unexpected scare.

So who are we talking about? Where will Drinkwitz turn for help at Neyland Stadium? Let’s break that down here. These are the five Missouri Tigers to watch for when they face Tennessee football Saturday afternoon.
