Defeated Mississippi State Bulldogs 21-14

Moving past the Mississippi State Bulldogs, we now look at the team that beat them. How about those Arkansas Razorbacks! Honestly, their schedule right now involves facing a team that’s 2-0 and another team that’s 1-1. As a result, their opponents are 3-1, and that one loss is to them. That has to count for something this early in the season.

Yes, this also means that Arkansas is the highest-ranked one-loss team in our SEC Power Rankings right now. All of a sudden, they look like Tennessee football’s second toughest SEC West opponent. Will that hold? We have no way of knowing yet, but this was the second week in a row the Hogs generated a lot of energy with how they played.

Don’t forget this team had a lead on the Georgia Bulldogs at halftime the week before. If you take away one bad half, this team has looked pretty good all season. New head coach Sam Pittman, with Kendal Briles as offensive coordinator and handling Feleipe Franks and Rakeem Boyd, has this team capable of being dangerous.

We’ll know what to make of this win soon enough. Up next for the Hogs is a visit to the reeling Auburn Tigers, but then they host the Ole Miss Rebels. Given how they all have played so far, both of those games could be a win for Arkansas to shockingly get them to 3-1, but they could at least steal one of them.
