Scouting Report. Running back. Redshirt sophomore. 5. player. Pick Analysis. Zamir White. 814

6’0″ 215 pounds; Hometown: Laurinburg, N.C.

Honestly, in this case, we’re just looking at the raw talent of the player. Tennessee football has actually done a pretty good job the first two weeks of stopping the run thanks to Henry To’o To’o leading the way, but Zamir White is a different type of player. He is elite and could give Derrick Ansley’s defense a ton of issues this weekend.

Through two games, White has 32 carries for 159 yards and three touchdowns, averaging five yards a carry. He also has three receptions for 19 yards. Ironically, Ty Chandler is the only running back who is ahead of White in the SEC in terms of rushing yards on the year, although Chandler only has one touchdown to this point.

White showed promise last year as a freshman despite not being the feature back, rushing for 408 yards and three touchdowns while averaging over five yards a carry. Simply put, he is an elite running back, and Kirby Smart and his staff will want to do everything they can to keep it on the ground if they are given that chance.

To’o To’o, Quavaris Crouch, Jeremy Banks and the defensive line will have their hands full with this guy. Ansley, Brian Niedermeyer and Jimmy Brumbaugh will have a lot of work to do to stop him. Speaking of the line, there’s another aspect of this game, though, that makes White a crucial player, and that leads to our next player on this list.
