These will be the five key UK players against the Tennessee football Volunteers.

Heading into last week, it looked like Tennessee football would be able to coast through the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday to get to 3-1. However, a blowout loss by the Vols to the Georgia Bulldogs and a UK upset over the Mississippi State Bulldogs has changed things a bit.

The situation is a bit more concerning for Rocky Top now. You have to assume UT is better, and this program does own Kentucky, but Mark Stoops is a great coach, and the Wildcats have plenty of talent to compete with Big Orange Country.

Lots of that talent didn’t come alive until last week. However, there are plenty of players who were even performing well through Kentucky’s 0-2 start, and Tennessee football will have to take all of them seriously in order to win this game.

As we get set to look at the key Kentucky players the Vols will have to account for Saturday, we’re going to focus more on those players who have performed consistently throughout the year. We’re also going to factor in what some of the preseason expectations were to separate those players.

Finally, the matchup situation with UT will determine which players are more important. There are some players who have been key for Kentucky in a big way through the first few weeks, but the personnel on the Vols will likely neutralize their talents this weekend.

Given Kentucky’s unique offensive situation geared heavily toward the run and one key go-to weapon, we’ll have a couple of unique positions making this list that don’t usually make such a list when previewing games. However, Stoops has been unconventional for years now.

Can he finally make that style work against Jeremy Pruitt? That’ll be up to Rocky Top. Let’s see who they have to account for. These are the five Kentucky Wildcats Tennessee football needs to keep an eye on for the Vols to win Saturday.
