Pruitt is 2-0 as a head coach against Stoops, winning 24-7 in Knoxville two years ago and then 17-13 in Lexington last year. The Vols were underdogs in both games and had a legendary goal-line stand to beat UK last year. It also was the game to get them back to .500 after the horrendous 0-2 start that then stumbled to 1-4 and 2-5.

This year, both teams desperately need a win. A win for Kentucky would put them back in position to potentially finish .500 after the blew a game Ole Miss. The Vols, meanwhile, need to win to stay at par based on what they were projected to do at the beginning of the year.

Both teams have a huge matchup next week, as Tennessee football will visit the Alabama Crimson Tide and Kentucky will visit Georgia. However, they will have nothing to lose and everything to gain in those games. As a result, they are each likely more focused on this game, as losing will be devastating for either of them.
