Tennessee football: Photo gallery from Vols’ 34-7 loss to Kentucky
Here are images from the Tennessee football Volunteers’ loss to the Wildcats.
The most shockingly embarrassing loss for Tennessee football in a long time is one Vols fans would love to forget. It was disastrous from the second quarter onward and is giving fans every reason to panic about the state of the program, once again, in Jeremy Pruitt’s third year.
After a 34-7 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats, Rocky Top’s eight-game winning streak has now been followed up by a two-game losing streak, and its 17-game home winning streak over UK has been snapped as well. Jeremy Pruitt’s team is now 2-2, just like Kentucky.
Although this is a day everybody in Vol Nation would like to forget, there were lots of great moments captured in time that are worth bringing you. We’re going to dive right in with those here. This is a photo gallery from Tennessee football’s horrendous loss to Kentucky.
This loss changes everything about the state of the Vols. After a 2-0 start and a win at the South Carolina Gamecocks, they were in solid shape. Even losing to the Georgia Bulldogs wasn’t going to hurt them too much.
However, with this loss, Jeremy Pruitt’s team has an uphill climb to even finish .500 this year. After all, they still have to face the Florida Gators and Texas A&M Aggies at home along with the Auburn Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks on the road. Oh, and next week, they have to face the Alabama Crimson Tide. Simply put, this was a win they needed.
Given how bad the loss was, it’s safe to say that the Vanderbilt Commodores are Tennessee football’s only likely win the rest of the way. Now, they could regroup, as they have a bye after Alabama, but if they look anything like they looked in this game, they are in serious trouble. We have no idea what to make of this team now.
